Dr. Kenneth Kidd, University of Florida Came to the University of Florida in 1998 after teaching several years at Eastern Michigan University, and received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. Professor Kidd works primarily in children’s literature studies but his research interests span nineteenth- and twentieth-century American literature, psychoanalysis, queer theory, and cultural studies. He is the author of two books: Making American Boys: Boyology and the Feral Tale (University of Minnesota, 2004), and Freud in Oz: At the Intersections of Psychoanalysis and Children’s Culture (University of Minnesota Press, 2011), in addition to publishing works in American Imago and PMLA. Professor Kidd teaches undergraduate courses in children’s and young adult literature, as well as graduate seminars such as “Into the Archive,” and “Childhood Studies.” He currently serves as Associate Director of UF’s Center for the Study of Children’s Literature & Culture.
