Scholars Council

Baldwin Library Scholars Council

The Baldwin Library Scholars Council was founded in 2014 with the aim of positioning the collection for continued ongoing excellence in supporting the research and scholarly opportunities in the field of children’s literature. The Council is a vital link between the Baldwin Library and the larger scholarly community for research, teaching, and scholarly communications.

Prior to the establishment of the council, a two-day planning meeting was held at the University of Florida. This meeting was funded by a George A. Smathers Libraries grant. The grant proposal, with justification, as well as meeting materials can be found in UF’s Institutional Repository: http://ufdc.ufl.edu/AA00021516.

Members were appointed by the Dean of the George A. Smathers Libraries, Judith Russell, with the curator of the Baldwin Library serving as the ex-officio. For more information on the structure of the Council, please see the Proposal for the Scholars Council.
